    Have a turtle beach xo one headset, haven’t had any problems with it. Broke controller this morning, went to Walmart and bought a brand new xbox wireless controller. Synced it with the xbox, was assigned to my account, went through update, no settings were
    changed...I can hear myself in the headset, that’s all. No sound from the xbox is coming through. Chatted with support, exhausted all troubleshooting methods, was told to go exchange it. Exchanged controller...still same **** issue! Are these pieces of ****
    at xbox just making new controllers only compatible with the newest **** headsets? I am getting No help from these sacks of ****!

    Headset not working correctly.

    So I have 2 xbox one headsets (official) that both work fine in one controller not another controller.

    I thought for weeks that my son did something to it and it was a bad port.

    So I tried it again today and found that it works under one condition.

    The condition is the controller needs to be turn off and back on. Once the xbox recognizes the controller being connected again, the headset works flawlessly. BUT once you disconnect the headset and reconnect it will not work and requires the above hokey
    work around.

    The xbox indicates there are no updates for the controller. I purchased the xbox one s and an extra controller from the same retailer little less than a year ago.

    Any thoughts as to what the issue might be? I was thinking bad port, but the headset works fine once the controller is powercycled. I even moved the 3.5mm male around in the female connector a bit to see if it would stop functioning when working and it does
    not.

    Headset stopped working

    Hi

    I need some help to get my headset working again. I bought a new XBOX ONE S in August 2018 and have been playing with a HP Omen headset&mic plugged into the 3.5mm connector on the wireless controller that came with the XBOX, everything worked fine (I could
    hear audio and I could talk to other players).

    Now there is no audio in the headset and mic does not work. The XBOX does not even recognize that the headset is plugged in.

    I tried connecting the headset to a PDP wired XBOX controller and the headset worked for a few days but has now stopped working.

    I have tried using a different headset that my son uses on a different XBOX but did not work when connected to my XBOX.

    I have tried updating the controller firmware which didn't solve the problem.

    Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello there,

    Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. Just to clarify, have you tried to update the controller, or connect the controller to the Xbox One with a USB cable? When you connect the headset to the new controller does the controller detect the headset and
    there just isn't any sound coming out of the headset? or does the controller not detect the headset at all for either controller? Does the headset work on other devices?

    There are tutorials online to get any wired headset working with xbox controllers, hopefully there will be some for the new xbox too.

    That doesn't work. A gamestop employee told me the X12 won't work on new controllers because it's analog and it only works with digital or something... does anyone know, if I buy the (overpriced) headset xbox one headset adapter will it work then?

    Xbox One headset mic not detected

    I think this may be possibly a firmware issue with the the controllers. I bought a new (used) controller, the one that is coming with the current systems. I'm still using my original release XB1 from 2013. My old controller works fine with the headset.
    (The micro usb is bad on it hence replacing it). The new controller I picked up is used, but in perfect condition. It's what is currently being shipped with newer consoles. The head set I use is Turtle Beach X0Four, plug in to the controller. I am having
    this same issue. The headset itself works, but it does not detect the mic. I have done all troubleshooting steps as mentioned https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/accessories/wired-headset-help?linkId=15835542 and repeated them, to no avail. I will take the
    controller back and try and find an older replacement since those still work. For now, my work around is just swapping out controller batteries when needed since my controller can't charge them.
