    Headset hearing issues


    Hi, I’m having an issue with my Xbox headset where my friend can hear me perfectly but when I’m wearing my headphones they are extremely quiet and I can barely hear them however, when I take my headphones off and leave them on my bed I can hear them and I don’t know how to fix this issue.

    The only way I can fully hear them and play with them and talk is when I set my audio so that it comes out of my TV but this is not what I want to do hopefully someone has experienced this issue before and can help me.

    My headset works on Party Chat on xbox one, but when playing videos and other sounds, I cannot hear any from my headset. What should I do?

    What type of headset are you using? Can you hear game audio trough this headset and the issue is only while playing videos? or you hear always only chat?

    Is this a wired headset?

    I used to have many issue with the wired headsets....mainly shorts in the wiring that would cause the same issues. I think my controller was somehow causing shorts to my headsets since I got one from an XBL bundle pack and it stopped working 2 days later.

    I've had one where I could hear them but they couldn't hear me and the other 3 had them hearing me but I couldn't hear a thing.

    I gave up on the wired headset and eventually bought the old wireless headset from Amazon during a sale, never had issues after that.

    Tried that. All that shows up is kinect. Doesn't recognize the headset at all.

    Try audio settings to turn on your mic.

    Home button then go to far right and then go down to audio settings

    Do a network test and see what your NAT is. When this happens to my son its because his NAT is on moderate.

    Sometimes a hard reset gets his NAT back to "open" and it works.
