Headset chat mixer not available

Still no chat mixer, I can hear chat but no game play? I still can't get into the headset chat mixer?

Are you using a wireless headset like Astro A50? If so then you have to use the physical chat mixer that is built in to the headset as the console guide chat mixer will be greyed out.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings > Display & sound.
3. Select Volume > Chat mixer.
4. Select one of the available options.

Select the Audio icon to modify the settings. On the next page, you can find three options: Headset volume, Headset chat mixer, and Mic monitoring. Make sure to set the Headset chat mixer to 40-60%.

UPDATE.

I figured it out.

Hard reset the xbox with the headset plugged in. The new controller has the chat mixer turned all the way to chat and not to game . Put the mixer back to the middle and it works. Without the hard restart, the option to adjust the chat mixer is gone.
