Headset barely picks up my voice

I got a new headset and controller about a month or two ago and for the past 3 weeks my headset just doesn’t seem to want to pick up my voice very well. I have to almost scream into the mic for people to hear me, this is for every game and even in xbox
parties. I have tried just about everything and I can’t seem to find a way to fix it.

Follow the steps in this support, Update xbox wireless controller. It may be worthwhile also
checking Troubleshoot headset and adapter setup
. A controller adapter usually fixes most sound issues.

Even if the saliva drains or drys the moisture could have permanently damaged the receiver or another electrical function . Also if you've had the mic for 2-3 years it may just be its time to go unfortunately. Charging and using it do "wear and tear" components
and they do eventually give out or fail to function as desired. You said when you enter a party you do not get the symbol showing that your in party chat or do you mean when you talk you do mic doesn't respond with the appropriate moving symbol, like being
in a party but in game chat? I would try what Mister Darcy suggested and use another mic on your Xbox to see if its a problem that needs to be fixed on a console level before going out and buying a new mic and continuing to have the same issue.

Microsoft is going to lose so many consumers over this. It is happening to majority of people with no solution. I can hear everyone but they can't hear me. My mic doesn't pick up sound. My bubble doesn't even move. So I bought a brand new controller and
xo fours thinking it was that and same problem. I know many others are frustrated with this. I have also looked up many videos and tried everything and nothing works. It happened randomly and now it is ruining many people's gaming experience. This is ridiculous
. I hope they fix this soon
