  1. Headset audio broken, chat mixer slider bar greyed out.

I left to go to the store and came back, turned my console on and my chat mixer bar was greyed out and i couldnt hear any audio. So i tried unplugging in pluggin in the headset, restarted the console, turning the controller on and off. I also test 2 other
controllers which are all having this issue. I used the headset with my phone, works perfectly. Both the headset and the controller are less than 2 months old. I had an update for the new controller, applied it, hard restarted my xbox (10 seconds on the power
button) idk what else to do. Idk what happened, nobody was here, nobody touched it.

    :)

I can’t hear my game sounds and Xbox notifications when I have a headset on but can hear and talk on party chat fine?

Hello HazelTomkins, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the game audio.

What you'll want to do is go into your audio settings and make sure that they are set up properly for the headset. You can also tap the Guide button on the controller then scroll down to the bottom right of the side bar to access specific settings including the audio slider. The slider should adjust how much game to party sound you hear.

If the slider is greyed out then you may be using a headset that has its own mixer that you'll need to adjust to hear the game sound

    Audio

    Hi there!

Getting game audio is dependent on what type of headphones you have. If you have stereo headphones and you plug into the 3.5mm port on the controller, you can access the chat mixer slider by pressing the Xbox button and select "Audio" in the System tab right
under Settings. From there, the second slider down titled "Headset chat mixer" is where you control how loud you want the game audio compared to the chat audio.

Let us know if you have any questions!
I did all the steps but there isint an option that is titled "headset chat mixer

Game audio through headset without adapter

    Other suggestions to think of:

    • Use a fresh change of batteries? Vibration and game audio gets disabled when the batteries run low.
    • Check for controller updates.
    • On "Headset Chat Mixer" slider bar, ensure it is set to at least (or at most) 50%. This balances game audio and chat audio from 100/0 to 0/100.
    • Ensure the 3.5mm audio connector is firmly connected into the controller's audio jack.
    • Test if your headphones aren't broken by connecting it to another audio source, like a laptop or MP3 player.
Hopefully it's one of these things!

    Game Audio not working

    Hi
    Sp4ceNutella
    ,

The chat mixer that you are looking at in the volume settings is not quite what Brad was referring to. If your Plantronics headset plugs via 3.5 mm audio, then your volume settings are controller easily from an audio option located beneath the settings option
when the Xbox guide is opened.

Press the Xbox button and when the guide pulls up, scroll to the right to the last tab and select Audio underneath Settings. Then the middle slider is listed as "Headset chat mixer" which controls the game and chat audio percentage. Make sure the slider
is centered for an even distribution.

If your headset has a headset adapter designed for the Xbox One controller, then that same mixer would be located on the adapter.
