Headphones with USB output

I have a Hyperx Cloud Revolver S headphones with 3.5mm output but I would like to take advantage of the USB because it has 7.1 audio. Someone could explain to me why my Xbox One X does not work with these headphones and another question, whether
they will work in the next generation.

i dont think xbox support usb headphones, i know there are lots that sell out there that say they work with pc, xbox and ps4, i have one, it works on all but xbox. I have tried quite a few models and none work via usb.

Are you playing on a Xbox console?

If so, go to the audio settings in the console settings and set up the console audio to output game audio via headset.

In the headphone settings you can also set up spatial 3D audio, by turning the audio output for headphones to Windows Sonic, or if you have purchased the Atmos App (the free app only works 14 days with headphones), you can also set Dolby Atmos for headphones.

If you are on the PC, you need to make the headphone your device for audio output (not only voice communications).

Click on the speaker icon in the lower right, and choose the output channel for the headphone. Depending on your soundcard or USB headset, you need to select the proper audio output.

I have a USB adopter for my headphones.

I used this USB adopter connected to my headphones plugged into my USB port on my Xbox One X.

The USB port does not recognize my device. Another account has replied to your question with this information.

Their is an audio port on the Xbox controllers, this port is designed for input / output audio.

I use a microphone plugged into my headphones, sometimes.

I tried the USB port, no Audio category was displayed on my Dashboard UI on the Profile & system section.

I have heard and agree that USB transfers audio, as a higher quality compared to the microphone / headphones cable-prong.

I also have the Rig 800s and have had a similar problem. The core of the issue is that the Xbox recognizes all audio output as going to the headphones even when they're turned off, as long as the USB dongle is plugged in. To get back your ARC/E-ARC/Bitstream
control for output to your receiver just unplug the dongle whemever you're not using the headphones.

Some of the newer televisions are not equipped with an Audio Output port. (There's a digital port where it can jack into a receiver, you can plug headphones into that.) But, there is a headphones port. and I have two USB's. The Afterglow will plug in through
that. Otherwise, the new Turtle Beach headsets might work.
