    Headphones Suddenly Not Working On Xbox One


    My son's headphones have suddenly stopped working! They worked just fine up to 5pm yesterday (14/04/2018). We have checked all settings which appear to be okay i.e. nothing muted and all set correctly. It's definitely NOT the headphones themselves as
    they work with iPad, iPhone, laptops, PCs etc. The sound works on the Xbox itself, but when you plug the headphones into the controller, you can not hear anything from them or be heard by anyone through the mic. We have restarted the Xbox, carried out
    a re-sync of the controller, tried the 2nd controller but all with no success. We have even tried the headphones on a PS4 and they work fine. They just stopped working on the Xbox after a friend used the Xbox yesterday. Did he change a setting?

    Headphones Suddenly Not Working On Xbox One

    Is the 3.5mm port on the controller dirty? That could interfere with the audio signals going to the headphones, especially if dust and other contaminants find their way inside.

    You can try cleaning the port with a gentle scrub with a small pipe cleaner, or a Q-tip with a bit of rubbing alcohol.

    Netflix audio with new controller.

    It's dependant on the headphones you have. It currently works with the larger official xbox one headphones in have.

    The sound does not cone through headset and no sound goes out. The headset works on other devices though. I fear it is headphone socket but the controller is only 4 weeks old. Any thing I'm missing? I've checked all settings it was working fine last night
