Headphones produce static when Mic is unmuted but do not when muted

I had the same problem. My mic was to close to my headset speaker. A quick fix is mute your mic when you're not talking, when you want to talk mute sound coming out of the headset speaker while you talk then immediately unmute sound to hear answer and
the game.

the record feature *has* been working, it records everything except my mic when I alt+tab or "Tab out" in where I have to mute and unmute for it to registed my mic again.

Yeah, sounds like an indicator that batteries are low. Assuming you have that kind of headset. A friends of mine also makes a noise when they mute/unmute their mic. Could it be that?

if I try to talk to my friends they cant hear me as if my mic is permanently muted when I try to mute or unmute no light shows sometimes my friends can hear me but then it goes again. I looked up this problem to fix it but apparently that if the mic is muted
when the xbox turns off then it brakes. if anyone has a tip to stop this contact me on xbox one .

No other headset to try but when plugging it in/out and switching mute to unmuted it makes the definite "click" sound over the mic and others can hear it. So theres a current going through it.
