Headphones Mic Glitches Out

So i dont have a headset, could be one of the reasons that im having this issue but ive been playing Car Mechanic Simulator (CMS) and its annoying to type each car part out when i need to search it and i saw today i could use a mic so i grabbed my headphones
(please note i tried 3 different pair all having the same issue and one pair never been used) and tried it. In order for it to work i had to restart my console WITH the headphones plugged in. if i would take them out at any point and plug them back into my
controller, it would glitch showing where it says "listening" to a triangle with a ! in the middle. i unplugged a re-plugged the headphones in, nothing. unplugged my controller plugging in the headphones then plugging my controller back in, also nothing. i
dont want to keep restarting the console just to have this voice to text like thing to work. i just want an easier way to search stuff in CMS in game by voice preferably instead of typing it out because that get annoying when switching from the in game warehouse
and tablet/computer. also please note i did change a few of my settings on xbox to make sure its not my settings fault and its not. i also quit the game session and went back in but didnt work, loaded a different game and quit then went back to CMS and didnt
work. i just want to be able to use my mic in game.

i use a rock candy controller, i was going to try getting a different controller but from what i was informed from the gamestop employee who also plays xbox it wouldnt matter since i dont have alexa or a digital assistant thing. or Hey Google (what ever
that one is called i forget) its not big deal really just annoying to keep typing things out on the controller and it takes up 2x more time vs a headset or keyboard would

sorry for the late reply but yes i have, later that day actually bought a headset from my local gamestop and it didnt work luckily i was able to return it for a full refund and was told i may need alexa or the google talk things in order to use voice
commands in the in game shop for when i need a car part. or a keyboard but idk if i want to dish that kind of money out.

Try Setting up a headset adapter.
Also Update your controller firmware
again. Even if it reports up to date, run it again with uSB cable connected, it only takes seconds.

i used to have a Turtle Beach Headset but it broke over 6 months ago, i think i still have the mic from it because it was detachable and i wanted to test and see if i could just use that instead of headphones. But i know for sure using headphones are bad
compared to an actual headset and to me it would be a waste of money getting one because i wouldnt use it much

Mine has been doing the same thing. I would have to turn off my headset then turn it back on and it would fix it. I have a wireless turtlebeach headset
