    HDR wont enable on capable monitor


    it wont enable and i know its not the monitor because my ps5 enables it on my screen instantly.

    hdr will only enable when going to hdr calibration , once I calibrate and leave it turns off hdr on my screen, please help !

    i have tried all the troubleshooting, and i have no options in my monitor menu that turn hdr on or off, i think it was working before and it stopped.

    i have all the capabilities on tv details

    DisplayHDR 1000

    Display HDR 1000 is a VESA Certification of HDR capability. This monitor having Display HDR 1000 means that it meets VESA's highest requirements for an HDR display.

    This monitor should work beautifully for Xbox One X. You can see more information on the Display HDR ratings here.

    Hi,

    Unfortunately the Asus ROG Strix XG279Q is limited to 60Hz with HDR, it's a limitation of the monitor hardware. It will either be HDR on or off I'm afraid.

    A lot of gaming monitors have quite poor HDR, with low peak brightness. The "HDR" feature on a lot of monitors is a selling point that customers expect to see, rather than it being actually good. Also this monitor has a lot more input lag at 60Hz with HDR
    enabled.

    I would drop HDR and enjoy 1440P at 120Hz as a better option. Making sure you also enable Variable Refresh Rate.

    HDR not working

    HDR is slected "ON" in the xbox settings. However on the monitor it shows it as being OFF. The game looks like it has no HDR either, as in the games compatiblity options it shows it has not ON.

    It is an HDMI 2.1 monitor capable of HDR.

    I have tried turning off the resolution "1440p" and selecting 1080p and 60hz only. I still not recieve HDR.
    What is the exact model number of your monitor?

    Sorry it took a while to get back. I couldn't tell if this monitor had HDR support, have you tried turning HDR off in your xbox settings then seeing if you get 120hz? Looking at your manual it diffently looks like the monitor is capable.
