Xbox One X issue with Sony WE755

I actually buyed an 49WE755 in the belief that I could enjoy Supersampling 1080p and HDR. However, it seems that HDR for this TV is not supported. I guess it has something to do with HDCP since the WE755 does only support HDCP 1.4. I don't know whether this
could be patched with a Firmware update.

Has anyone else experience with the Full-HD / HDR TVs from Sony?

    Xbox One X splitter

    Hello I bought the switcher:

    https://www.jtechdigital.com/j-tech...l-web-gui-control-and-spdif-audio-output.html

The problem is with xbox detects 4k but in display settings mark incompatibility with hdr or 10bits. If I connect the xbox without the switcher directly to the tv works amazing perfect. All formats inside settings of xbox test are green and allowed including hdr. What I note is that the TV samsung Q9FN detects that switch like not known but works excellent with nvidia shield and xbox works in 4k but not all formats, like I mentioned, HDR and 10 bits, etc. are marked in the test as not supported. But these formats works without problem if connected the xbox with just the hdmi cable to the tv, just through the switch is the problem.

Is there a 2 outputs splitter that can support the 10bits, hdr and all the formats that manages the xbox in the display settings test?

This is a picture of the xbox settings when is used through th switcher.

Unable to enable HDR despite having a capable TV

    No need ask anyone

It won't be pleasant the hdr

    It's not a setting it's your tv

It supports old stamdards and doesn't output enough to do hdr on most devices just ps4

Apps won't accept the hdcp that old to do hdr and yes that's why sony doesn't support uhd on ps4

You need the hdcp 2 for 4k apps

2k and 4k tvs support hdcp2.0 or higher

And there js a huge problen

HDMI 1.4 can do 4k but limited ro 30hz with no hdr

The problem is the tech in that tv is ancient

    @nurse

Hdcp and hdmi 1.4 isnt just a number hdmi 1.4 has a low bandwidth and only supports hdr not hdr 10 that requires more bandwidth

@op If you do use hdr on 1080,p there is a reason why sony has that warning

When hdmi 1.4 and hdcp 1.4 was written hdr wasn't out yet but it was written into the specs

Hdr wasnt widespread till hdmi 2.0

However ps4 uses hdmi 1.4 and with the 2018 patch can use hdr and @op it won't be pleasant you are going to get flickering because of the low bandwidth you are better off leaving it off

Here is more info on the subjects https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.polygon.com/platform/amp/2016/11/14/13625920/ps4-pro-4k-tv-black-screen

Basically you are better off with a better tv if you want hdr

    Samsung KS8500 4K Issue

Hey, in order for 4K to work, all devices must have HDCP 2.2. 4k content makers use this software to protect its 4K content. The Xbox One S has HDCP 2.2 but your TV may not have it. Check in your manual or call samsung and ask them. I actually ran into
the same problem. I bought a 4K UHD HDR compatable denon a/v receiver. But for some reason it did not support HDCP 2.2. So now I have to directly connect the Xbox to my TV. My LG TV supports HDCP 2.2.

    I hope this helped

    XBOX 4K to receiver

The link didn't help, doesn't address the receiver issue. If I have to get a new receiver that supports HDCP 2.2 I'll look into that. It's about $1100 minimum for a decent receiver and was trying to avoid that.

Is the XBOX one able to see a 4K HDR TV while passing through a new receiver that is 4k HDCP 2.2 compliant? Or is this an issue with any receiver?

Or put another way: Can the Xbox One X hand shake a 4K HDR TV going through a receiver? If so what am I looking for in a new receiver to allow that? Or will the receiver that's 4K HDCP
2.2 compliant actually hand shake the XBOX allowing 4K output?

I get this error when going through receiver: 4K is supported by your TV, but not at 60Hz. You won't be able to upscale to 4K, but, depending on your TV, you may still be able to play some 4K and HDR
content. To see what your TV supports, choose 4K TV details. Then xbox only out puts in 1080p
