HDR Looks Terrible With Some Games on Xbox Series X

I’ve been having an issue with my HDR on my Xbox Series X and it’s driving me crazyyyyyyy. My monitor supports HDR10 but when I go on some games, the screen turns black for a few seconds and when it turns back on, the HDR looks terrible and so washed out for that game I’m on. Even when snapping the guide when on that game, it looks really grayed out. But then, If I return to the home menu or load up a different game, the HDR and graphics look amazing and not washed out. I know for sure the new Forza Motorsport supports HDR and this issue is happening across multiple games but not all. The best fix I found was to just disable HDR from the Xbox settings but It’s a shame because I want to make use of my HDR capable monitor, but I don’t know what else to do. I even tested this on an expensive 4k TV in my house and the issue still persists. I’ve just come to a conclusion that the issue is on Xbox’s end, but I really hope someone can possibly help me out with this. Also to mention, this issue started happening after the recent new Xbox Dashboard update.

Here are a few options you may consider to fix your issue:
1. Power cycle your console.
2. Reset your control to factory settings.

The monitor is Acer Nitro XF243Y PBMIIPRX. The TV is the Samsung TU7000.

According to the specs, both support HDR.

I had the same / similar issue with my old 4K 60hz none HDR / HDMI 2.0 monitor when watching movies and some times in games with the Series X,

As soon as i upgraded my monitor to a 4K 144hz monitor that has HDR / HDMI 2.1 ports, i no longer had this problem,

I'm not sure what the problem is, but my guess is that the HDMI 2.1 port on Series X doesn't play well with HDMI 2.0 port of monitors, or it's the Series X trying to force HDR on, even if the monitor does not have / support HDR and the HDR in Series X menu's is turned off.

Sorry for the late reply. I have my Series S hooked up to my Fire TV in the bedroom and my X hooked up to a TCL S4 series in the living room. Neither one is idea for HDR content. At least not with the Xboxes. I tried my hand with an high end LG TV to see what HDR would look like and while some games looked better than others it was still a mixed bag. Some games will just look awful with HDR on regardless of what TV your playing off of. I really would like to do tests with a PS5 to see if I get similar results.
