    HDR issue for XBOX ONE S - HDR mode does not start after restart of the console


    Hello everyone,

    I have video issue with XBOX ONE S and 4k TV LG 55SK9500. When I start a game it is launched in HDR, everything is fine - HDR mode is recognized but when I turn off the console and resume the game, the HDR mode is lost and not being recognized anymore. Thus,
    I have to quit and restart the game every time to be able to launch in HDR. The HDR is calibrated in the XBOX menu and the TV is fully supported.

    Could the issue be fixed?

    Will xbox one support 1080p HDR like PS4 does?

    I'm more interested in knowing if Xbox One S/X will support 1080p and HDR for gaming. I'm fine with ignoring 4k for now.

    Yes, it does. HDR does not depend on 4K output. If your 1080p television supports HDR, then it will work for the games that have HDR color palettes available. It is up to the developer to enable this option in their games.

    The only Xbox One family console that does not support HDR for gaming is the original, first-generation Xbox One.

    Netflix: No UHD on XBOX One S

    I can verify this issue...Netflix UHD does not work on Xbox One S. I have a Vizio M55-D0 with the latest firmware enabling HD10 support. My TV is now recognized by the One S video settings as 4K HDR capable. I am able to enable HDR support and it works beautifully
    with the Blu-Ray app (Mad Max 4K Blu Ray playing 4K, 24fps, HDR as verified by the Vizio settings app). However when I start Netflix, the screen flashes, colors mute, and video fails to switch to HDR or 24fps. Netflix app is clearly broken right now for HDR.
    If I switch HDR off on the One S, Netflix app is fine, plays 4K correctly, colors are fine obviously no HDR.

    If you have xbox one s not the X I find that games dont support hdr mode which is only meant for bluray movies on the S

    I had this issue with shadow of the tomb raider when I turned off hdr it was fine
