    HDR Handshake on Disney+ not fully engaging


    I want to see if other people have this issue or not before I report it as it *may* be an issue with my setup, however on Disney+, no matter what film I try to watch that supports 4k and HDR, it doesn't display it unless I restart the film a few times, or worse re-engage HDR by disabling and enabling in the system settings.

    I only get this with Disney+ and a little annoying to spend 10 mins before each film to get it to display properly.

    Games, Netflix, BluRay, all work fine.

    I'm on Alpha Ring, Xbox One X, Samsung 4K HDR TV (2017)

    Same here, I tested and have Atmos everywhere else but disney plus. Im waiting for the fix so I too can watch starwars in 4k HDR and Atmos.

    +1 -- Xbox One X - no Dolby Atmos on Disney+ content (The Mandolorian for example). Works great through Netflix and other services.

    Hi

    Can you please try following this
    4K/HDR trobleshooting     guide to see if it helps resolve your problem but first if you have not already done so carry out a full television and console restart to make sure there is no handshake issue between the two devices.

    Try any other streaming app like youtube, disney plus etc to see if those have any problems. Does your TV support HDR? If so, try turning off HDR and see does it make any difference.

    Also try turning off game mode in TV while streaming Netflix.

    I also have this issue with my Pioneer VSX-LS303. I thought it was an issue with the receiver but it seems its a problem with the Xbox and the handshake between the two devices? I hope this gets resolved soon. I can't even game in HDR because of the issue.
