HDR Calibration Application doesnt seem to work they way it was intended.

I will start with my setup which is a 32" 2K HDR samsung display with an xbox series X.

It requests that you turn off your sharpness on the monitor so I put it to 0 as no option to actually disable it.

The first minimum luminance page doesnt seem to do anything when using the lighter/darker dpad options. There are then 2 pages for maximum luminance where the brighter and darker toggles make a change and you can see the checkered box.

Everything looks great when using the comparison images at the end but the moment you go back to xbox everything is completely blurred even after resetting the console and the monitor.

Turning my monitor back to 100 sharpness resolves this issue and I personally dont notice this "halo effect" in RDR2 single player.

HDR / Dolby Vision no longer working on Xbox Series X

I tried this and it helped get hdr on momentarily but it’s not sticking. HDR shows up as on only when I’m in the calibrate hdr for games menu. Once I get through menu it’s gone again. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Edit: hdr is working with some games, but the UI isn’t hdr which I can live with.

    4kHDR

It most certainly does but if you're talking about an easier way to calibrate 4k and HDR, yes I 'd love a program that simplifies and maximizes your tv and consoles capabilities.

Netflix App on Xbox One X Forces HDR when it shouldn't. Dark/Gray/Washed-out Colors.

    Hi

I don't think there are any issues I believe this is the way Netflix intend the app to perform in regards to HDR.

Colors are brighter and washed out in games when HDR is active on Xbox Series X

Hey Alejandro, how are you today, my friend? Hope you're well.

Have you tried to calibrate the HDR settings on your xbox?

To use the HDR Game Calibration app, press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options > Calibrate HDR for games. Make sure to adjust HDR picture settings while your TV is in HDR mode.

Why is HDR not working on my new XBox Series X

Unlike the PS5, the Xbox dashboard is displayed in SDR, which is why HDR turns off when you close down the HDR calibration tool.
