    HDR 10/Auto HDR problem

    Hi,

has anyone else had problems with HDR10/Auto HDR on Series X?

Example: in Fallout New Vegas everything is ok when I play. But in Gears 4/5, when I open the game, it gets too bright, coulours are washed and very ugly... if I go to the dashboard everything is ok, regular image, not bright. I go back to the game, it looks like that.

Already switched hdmi cable, ports, fully restarted console and TV, etc... but nothing changes. Only when I turned off HDR10/Auto HDR on Series X, it came back to normal (and I played it that way).

It's strange because I played Gears 4 and 5 before with this enabled and there were never any problems.

My TV (in case it helps) is: SAMSUNG GU55TU7079 LED TV (UHD 4K).

    Someone can help?

Thank you! HDR 10/Auto HDR problem :)

    :)

I unfortunately don't have an answer but have the exact same problem as you described.

If anyone can help with this issue that'd be great!

Xb1x says not all 4k & hdr features supported

I will try plugging it into the wall without a surge protector, I have it connected to hdmi port 2 because the tv manual says ports 2 and 3 have hdr and hdmi 2.2 support.

And as far as the hdr setting on the tv I have it set to auto, the options are auto, hdr 10 and hdl. But come to think of it I just downloaded a firmware update that adds Dolby Vision to the tv.
I have the same model of Sony. You have to select HDR 10 as "auto" doesn't seem to work while playing games.

    Hi,

In addition to Arminator's comments, HDR is best set to 'Auto' on your TV/monitor.

Setting it to always on won't look right for SDR content, luminecence and colour will be all wrong on SDR games and video content with HDR forced to on.

With HDR set to Auto, your display will only use HDR when HDR content is detected.

The surge protector wouldn't cause issues with HDR, but you still shouldn't use one as the console is already protected. Using a protector on the Xbox one can cause severe instability issues.

Have you connected your console to an HDMI that supports HDR? On many TV's, not all HDMI ports have HDR support. Also, have you enabled HDR on the source HDMI you have your console connected to? HDR is not on by default. HDR is already enabled for Smart
    TV apps.
First off thanks for the help,
