Hdmi to tv doesnt work

i picked up an xbox one at a thrift and the hdmi to tv doesnt work my question is if i use the other hdmi port and put it on a hdmi.splitter that leads to tv will it work?

To troubleshoot your display issues, make sure to follow the guide from the link below.

If you're going to use a splitter, there's no guarantee that it will display correctly or if your display could be configuration properly. You could try it but it may or may not work. I still recommend using an HDMI cable. Just make sure that the HDMI OUT is from your console and the HDMI IN is going to be on your TV. You could try different cables or ports and make sure that your TV source is set correctly as well. Everything is on the link above.

i have tried 3 hdmi cables 2 are brand new but it doesnt get sound. and yes i have used the component cable. idk why this isnt working my tv works fine on cable and everything but then on the dashboard it doesnt work

With your setup Atmos cannot.be setup through HDMI. For this to work the sound passes through your tv (HDMI ARC to TV and then TV to sound system) which you said your tv doesn't support. Btw the Xbox doesnt support ARC connections either. The only way
this is going to work is if it is supported by your tv as it must pass through your tv. Unfortunately optical connection doesn't support Atmos either.

yes in my initial post i said that component works fine, HDMI works fine on my computer monitor but not the TV. I also said that I have another Samsung TV that doesnt recognize the signal either.

If your using hdmi or vga and your tv supports it it should be under display settings. If your tv doesnt support that resolution then this tip will also work with 480p option but note it will be running in standard def.
