HDMI to Component (YPbPr), No Signal

Note: My does have HDMI, but the number of HDMI inputs I have is irrelevant (just one, IIRC). The reason I need the component input is that I have a Roxio capture card that only supports component input.

What you actually need is an hdmi to component cable just do an online search for "HDMI to YPbPr Adapter"

There are converters out there, but they aren't particularly cheap. I found one at monoprice.com but it seems to be discontinued. Check it out:

Check the manual of your TV, as my (older) Samsung TV did have component input, but via an

adapter cable whip.

If there is no adapter, and the console really doesn't have a HDMI port, you will need a

component to HDMI converter box.

Since Component is an analogue signal, and HDMI is digital, you can't use a simple adapter cable. You need electronics that take the analogue signal, and process that into a digital signal.

The trouble is, that this process takes time, and impairs the image quality. So you will have to live with "input lag". Meaning, the image you see on your TV lags several milliseconds behind, so for timing relevant games like Rhythm Games or fighting games,
this is not an ideal solution.
