    Can I Direct Connect XboxOne to TV?

    Yeah...it's not as silly and simple as the original question seems. For us, the video comes through, but no audio. The tv is older -- only one HDMI port, so we tried an HDMI splitter, but still no luck....

    Xbox One X for 1080p gaming?

    I do have a question. I know the console comes with a 4K compatible HDMi cable, do I need that hooked up if I have a 1080p TV? My cables are all run through the wall, thats why I ask. Hoping I can get the texture updates and all of that without the 4K compatible HDMI cable thats included and just use my Xbox One S HDMI cord.

    I can't say what spec the HDMI cable but I know it is more than capable of sending 4K HDR images to a television without issue.

    well if he has a home theater AV unit that has HDMI switching he just needs 2 cables one to go from the 360 to the TV and one to go from the from the AV unit to the TV (that is how I have my audio set up).

    A HDMI cable will carry both Audio and Video signal.

    However if you want to have surround sound, you will need to get the official HDMI bundle as it comes with an audio adapter which lets you connect your audio to a surround sound system. You can get a third-party one, but they are not as reliable as the official
    one.

    Do you know anyone that has a video cable you can borrow? I suggest trying another VGA calbe, to determine if the console is having an issue or not. Alternatively, you may want to try it on another display.

    You could also use the optical out to connect to your surround sound
