HDMI out port slightly damaged but working perfectly, should I be worried?

This issue sounds like the one i had a few months ago.

I tried all the trouble shooting that is available, nothing worked. At the end it was my HDMI cable that was broken. Had to replace it.

Worst case is that your HDMI port is slightly damaged and will need to be repaired.

have you tried a different tv? and have you tried having a look to see if the hdmi port on the console is broken or damaged in anyway

Thanks @XA Drbattle. No, the port looks fine and is working fine too as it is working with the alternative TV perfectly ok. However, it is this combination of the console and the TV where I see the blank screen.

I would also add to check the HDMI cable for any damage and both the HDMI port out to the TV and the HDMI port on your TV to see if there is any damage. Also if you have any other free HDMI ports on the TV plug it into them and see if the problem persists.

Also try to see if there is a build up of material (dust) on the cables ends and HDMI ports. There are several ways to clean HDMI cables and ports. Just look up how to clean them properly.

If neither of the above works, check the HDMI port visually on the console for damage. You say you've tried several ports on the tv with the same result, so this points to either the console or the cable being damaged. If the HDMI port looks ok, possible
that the cable is damaged, check the plugs at each end for misaligned pins, or try a different cable.

I really should have had coffee this morning. Removing old console from Preview program and adding new console. Can't remove old console due to HDMI out port damage.
