    HDMI handshake issues on Series X and LG C1 OLED


    I'm posting this in low hopes for any kind of solution, but I'm hopeful. I sometimes (perhaps 20%) get handshake issue when I turn on my LG C1 and Xbox Series X. Today when doing this I got 480p resolution. When turning off/on the TV it increased to 1080p. When restarting the Xbox it finally got 4K. Usually it will get fixed with restarting the Xbox without touching the TV. It does not matter if I turn on the TV first and wait 5 minutes then turn on the Xbox, or vice versa. It's close to unbelivable that I've also had this issue on my last gen LG OLED TV (~5y old LG B7) paired with Xbox One X. I do also believe the same issue was on Xbox One while I had that. So same issue has persisted on several generations with LG and Xbox, and it's still not fixed. I think part of the issue is customer service at Xbox and LG, I can only imagine based on previous experiences that whenever a customer comes to Xbox support, they just simply give up because of the useless answers they will get. LG support do seem more competent and serious though when contacting them.

    TLDR; handhsake issue on xbox series x paired with lg c1, but I also had the same issue on xbox one x and lg b7, causes tv and xbox forced in sub 4k mode

    Xbox series X and LG C2 problems.

    No, unfortunately, one cannot speak of clarity in this case, because I have experienced the exact opposite case.

    I own the LG C1 and the LG C2, and the handshake problems have NEVER occurred in over a year of use on the C1! Instead, however, they keep coming back with the C2 on the same Xbox Series X console. When switching this console back to the C1, the same picture again, NEVER! LG C1 and LG C2 both support Dolby Vision (for gaming). Before testing the LG C2 with one / my Series X, I had never heard of the handshake issue with Dolby Vision. Besides, the LG C2 works very well, but the Dolby Vision handshake in games can hardly be tested on other devices, because the PS5 does not support this feature and other devices are at least unknown to me.

    I have the same problem. XSX connected via HDMI 2.1 cable to LG C1 OLED connected via eARC to LG SP8YA (same type of cable). Super annoying delay. Makes any game with dialogue almost unplayable. All the native TV apps work fine with no delay. Other game systems not made by Microsoft work fine. This is an xbox issue. Please acknowledge and fix.

    Same issue here with my LG OLED B6. I am running it through an Onkyo TX-NR555, though. I don't have any problems with my PS4 Pro HDR handshaking, though. It seems to be Xbox One X specific, and it happens with my by consoles (my wife has one too so I
