    HDD selection

Since we have to add an external harddrive to the xone, which manufacture holds up best and easiest to add. A 2TB is about $100 +/- and does it matter to have external power for it or will it use the small passport type? thanks!

    :)

Send the xbox back and make sure the repair is under the correct selections. if you sent it in under "fualty hdd" and the HDD works fine then its going to come back as all good.

Even if you found out some information, you may find this useful; and if not, hopefully it's of use to others who read this thread.

The requirements for the Xbox One are that the hard drive (or SSD) be USB 3.0 and a minimum of 256GB, though most external hard drives will be at least 500GB and the ones you want will probably be a minimum of 1TB if not 2TB. You can have up to three external
drives connected to your console at any one time.

As for external-power versus bus-power, both of these will work. Typically you will get better performance from the "desk" HDDs which are powered from a wall outlet, because of their higher RPM (usually some 7200rpm); the "passport" style drives are usually
somewhat slower (often, 5400rpm) which means the performance gain compared to the internal storage is lesser (but still the speeds more than adequate for the job), while they are also significantly more portable and require far less space (not to mention not
needing to free up a wall outlet, often a precious commodity).

The performance difference will translate as typically faster load times, but note that this will principally affect single player or offline modes (and the differences is measured in seconds, if not less) while multiplayer load times are essentially limited
by the lobby's connection to each other.

    Returning HD to PC state

Connect your HDD to your PC.

Open the Startmenu and search for "Computer Management".

Once you opened that, choose "Disk Management" on the left side.

Select your HDD there, right click the Partition and Format.

    Skyrim problems.

Delete the game and all contents associated with it. Try clearing your systems cache. Go to the settings tab on the dashboard then selecting storage, then select hdd and press the y button then select clear cache. After the process is finished restart the
console. Install game to hdd and re download all the sky rim content again and then try running the game again.
