HBO Max Video Quality Issues

The past few days, the video stream on HBO Max on my Xbox One has been garbage. One minute it’s fine, the next it’s constantly buffering. I have fiber gig internet speeds and spoke with my provider and everything is fine on their end. Restarted the router, changed ports, changed cords. No improvement. Other apps appear to be working fine.

I checked Reddit and others are experiencing the same issue on other Xbox devices (Series X, S, etc.)

Who else has experienced this issue? Is there a solution or an upcoming patch/update coming? Because this is flat sad and ridiculous.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

To fix this, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Also, if this is the only app that you're having an issue with, kindly uninstall and reinstall the app. In regards to the update or patch, there is no information yet as I have checked and there is no report for the known issue with the app.

Already did that and just about every other thing possible. Went and connected with HBO Max’s support group and they couldn’t fix or diagnose the problem. Their having their advanced support group research it and get back to me.

Xb1 is about the last big device to get HBO Now, and it doesn't even work right. It also, completely locks up frequently, and the video quality is often awful (I never have such poor picture quality with Apple TV).

Whilst HBO Max is available in Romania, it seems the HBO Max App is not:

Strange as it should be available:

HBO Max will also be available through selected TV distribution partners."

It was supposed to be released on 8th March.

However, I have seen people unable to find the app via a PS4 so maybe the app release has been delayed/scheduled for later?
