having trouble streaming my xbox one x to my windows 10 laptop

hi all first time posting here im having trouble with the beta streaming app the sound comes on but theres just a black screen ie no picture then it bounces out after a few mins ive tried resetting app restalling app reseting xbox resetting laptop turning my wifi of and on again was working up till 2days ago. oh and this ultimate gaming pass will that let you stream you xbox to your laptop not sure how it works cos i hve an xbox pass already

So, jeaneetewilliams, what you could do to stream your xbox one x to your PC, you could use only the xbox companion app.

its not the xbox companion i am on about its the beta gaming streaming app i know the xbox one x ( i dont have the xbox one ) doesnt stream it will was doing fine up to to days ago and now the sound works for a brief time and then it says ive stopped playing remotely

1. On Xbox One, select Settings and Preferences;

2. Access Xbox App Connectivity;

3. Check the Allow connections from any device boxes

or Allowed only for profiles connected to this Xbox;

4. On your computer, open the Xbox app;

5. On the left side, select Connection;

6. The app will search for consoles connected on the same network. Select your Xbox One;

7. Click Stream to start streaming.

8. Navigation will be done with a control already configured on the PC;

9. To change the streaming resolution, enter Settings, Xbox One and Streaming Quality;

10. Choose the one best suited to the speed of your home network.

11. To start a game, select it normally.

Hello amramlinebarger, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

The Xbox Console Companion app is mainly for Windows 10 and allows you to stream your Xbox One to One X consoles on Windows 10. This app does not work with the Series X/S consoles though and the Xbox app is recommended for streaming to your PC if you're running Windows 11.

If you are running Windows 11 the only way we'd ask you to try installing the app is if you were having trouble with your Xbox games just to see if that would help.

Still looking for help on this. The "Stream" button on my Windows 10 Pro N desktop is not appearing. "Test Streaming" is the only option appearing. Xbox One app is on the latest. I have also uninstalled the app and reinstalled. The funny thing is, I am
using a Laptop, running Windows 10 and i am able to stream to my laptop on the same network. Is there a firewall or an issue with the network? Devices all have Static IP.
