Any help would be great...

Having trouble with redeeming my gift card. The card is activated. When trying to redeem it on my Xbox console, it says try another payment method,this is not a code from a gift card?? I then signed into my Microsoft account on my iPad and it seemed to all
go through fine however when I look at my account details, it says a gift card has been purchased but there is no amount on the gift card???

I'm having trouble purchasing content and redeeming gift cards. I can still do the auto-renewal of my xbox live gold membership, but nothing beyond that.

yes xbox gift cards will work on pc,s and yes you need xbox live gold go for xbox live gold first.

Is it a gift card or a Live card?

A gift card would add funds to your account so you would need to redeem that first and then purchase gold with your Microsoft account balance, although with promotions you typically have to purchase the gold using a credit card. You should be able to redeem
it at http://xbox.com/redeemcode

A Live card would have a specific amount of gold time already on it and would not be redeemable towards a promotion. Once you redeem it, you would just have that amount of gold on your account.
