Having to Power Cycle Xbox One S every startup after the fall update

Can you try power cycling the console and accessing any of the apps you mentioned after? If no luck, go to
Settings --> Power & Startup and change the power mode to
Energy-saving, then power cycle and try again.

Xbox one froze on startup. I’ve reset and power cycled it. I’ve downloaded the offline update and gone through that process. It keeps getting stuck 66% of step 3 or 88% of entire update. What else can be done???

This is a common problem within the Update Preview, so you will need to perform the workarounds until the problem is patched properly with another update. The team delivering the updates knows about the issue and is working on a fix.

The best workaround so far, rather than reinstalling, is to do a complete power cycle, which should even fix the voice command issue.

If the voice command Xbox On is not working, check the colour of the power light (on power supply unit) when you have switched off the console. If it is orange, you need to go to Settings then Power & Startup and switch the power mode to Instant On.
