Having problems with the My Home Xbox

Sorry to hear it. There is a limit to how often an account can set an Xbox One as the Home console. This is 3 times per year and cannot be adjusted.

You'll need to wait the rest of the year out before his account can set the console as Home again.

In the meantime, you're going to have to let him know what happened and hope that he allows you to have his gamertag signed in while you play games.

might help you out a bit. You do only have 5 switches per year; however, if you have never had that reset you can contact Xbox Support (1-800-4MY-XBOX) to see about having that reset. You can only have it reset once in a 1 year period by support.

Also, if you have two consoles, there is no need to change the My Home Xbox each time. You only need to use the feature if you are going to sign into a different profile and would like to share your games, gold, apps etc... with a different profile on that
console. If you are using the same profile at both locations then there is no need.

please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

then run a network test and if all is succesful try setting the console as Home again.
