Having issues with the new dashboard update with disc tray also disc tray was working fine...

[/quote]Sorry but this is not true or correct. I have Accepted many, many, many Updates for the System itself with a Disc in the Tray and it all works fine. If it did not, there would be a Notice to "Remove Disc from Tray".

I got the Update error message too which returned me to the dashboard. I just started up the game with disc 2 still in the tray and it worked fine.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We recommend trying these steps to see if able to install the update.

You can resolve this issue by retrying the update after ejecting the disc tray and pushing it back in halfway. Here’s how:

1. Eject the disc tray and remove any disc from the console.
   
   Important Do not close the disc tray. Leave it open.
2. With the disc tray open, remove the power cord from the back of the console.
3. Gently push the disc tray about halfway back into the console.
4. Plug the power cord back into the console.
5. Push the power button on the console. The tray should close the rest of the way, and then the console should restart and display the Xbox Dashboard.
   
   Important Do not use the controller button or the disc tray eject button to turn on the console for this step.
6. Try updating your console software again.
