    So, to get to the subject at hand I bought myself a dream pair of Steel Series Arctis 9X's for my Xbox 1 S just four days ago. Today is actually the very first day I got to try and use them. At first notice, nothing seemed wrong as they were playing the usual game noise like background music, guns shooting, etc... However, I noticed that the indicators on the game I was playing were showing voice lines but I couldn't hear a thing. So I check the volume, everything is up but it won't let me select the chat mixing option for some reason (Its greyed out). Is there some way to fix the voice chat audio or are these headphones bunk and I wasted 200 hundred dollars? I tried asking Steel Series themselves but no one like got back with me on the subject.

    I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

    It is a known issue and they are working on a solution. Maybe these steps can help you.

    1. Download the SteelSeries Engine and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software to your PC. Next plug your headset in to your PC and then click on the Artics 9X Critical Update banner once you've launched the SteelSeries Engine. Lastly follow on-screen instructions again to install the firmware to your headset.

    2. Clean your console's MAC, restart when prompted, and try again.

    To clean the MAC follow this path

    Settings>general>network settings>advanced settings>alternative MAC address and click clear and restart the console when prompted.

    3. reset the console to factory defaults, you won't lose anything but you will need to log in with your account again. Email and password are required.

    Follow this path and select reset keeping games and app.

    In 5 to 10 minutes you will finish reconfiguring your console

    To reset the console>

    Settings> System> Console Info> Reset Console

    ***Do not reset your console without having your account email and password.***

    Is this happening only with COD?
    If yes, we can try to isolate a bit more the problem. But first tell me.
    Are you using the headset wirelessly?
    If yes, and if the headset supports a wired connection. Can you try testing in that way to see if the issue persist?

    Or if you have another headset, please using the other pair.

    In the meantime, double check if the headset that you have supports firmware updates (maybe for this a PC is required) and update it if necessary

    I’m gearing up for the Xbox series X launch and want to know if the Steel series arctic nine

    If you can use the headset on the Xbox One / S / X, it should be usable on the Series X,

    Steel Series website on the Arctis 9X Headset states it will work on Xbox Series X, if its the Arctis 9X.

    As far as I know, most if not all current hardware will be compatible with the Series X, even your games on your external hard drive can just be plugged in and enjoyed.

    This makes it easy for me as I have a 4TB external myself and its almost full.
    I wouldn't run the game direct from the 4TB hard drive as you wont get the fast loading or fast travel times that the Custom NVMe SSD offers, best to transfer you most regular played games on to the Xbox Series X SSD.
