    Having issues with my Xbox, possibly bricked


    Pretty sure my Xbox one S is bricked. It won't display on my TV, I've switched to different TVs and hdmi cords. The controller sync button won't work and the Xbox won't turn off unless I unplug the power cord or Power the Xbox off by pressing the console button for 5 minutes. I've tried everything. I've restarted it. Unplug the power cord for a few minutes and plug it back in. I've left it on for a few minutes and it still won't work. Sometimes if I leave it on long enough, I'd say for about 5 minutes it'll power itself off. I've even factory reset it and nothing seems to work. So what do I do

    *UPDATE* I'm not sure if it was because of the update or not but the root cause was my power brick. Either the update affected my power brick (which I don't know if it's even possible) or the power brick was faulty and just happened to
    have issues during the update. I took it to Gamestop and they plugged up a different power brick and it booted up fine. The old power brick always stays orange. If you have this issue, check the power brick.

    Would it be possible to actually buy a power brick from Portugal and plug it into my xbox? I thought they had specific types of power bricks for the Xboxs in Europe?

    I cleaned the dust off of my xbox one and now it won't turn on

    Hi, thanks for your reply! I am still having issues, but I'm curious if it is at all because there is too much residual dust in my power brick. I don't think I've ever cleaned it since I got the console. It was positioned next to the console against the side of my entertainment center, just collecting dust these past few years. As I was cleaning the console, I gave no thought to the power brick, and I moved the power brick where dust may have collected.

    Is it possible my issues stem from this? Is it possible that compressed air can clean the dust, and my console can work again?

    I personally haven't heard a thing about a recall on powersupplies, but this one seems to be failing

    the best thing to do is to request a replacement power supply via
    http://myservice.xbox.com     it will also show you if it is still within warranty or not etc.
