Having issue installing purchased games from Microsoft store

when I had my xbox 360 I had purchased gta 5 when it first came out from the Microsoft store on the xbox 360. I had just bought the xbox one s and logged into the same xbox account used on the 360. I went to the game store and rryed to go download the game
but it said I had to purchase the game. I had already bought the game awhile ago on my xbox account. Why is it not showing that it has been purchased on the xbox one s?

downloaded games from members of the community including myself are having issues starting, I believe this is only with game purchased from Microsoft store. The game I experienced this issue with is Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

That game is not backwards compatible. So in order to play it on the One, you would need to purchase the One version.

well that's stupid. Why cant Microsoft let me download the xbox one version for free because I've already bought and played for the game on my account why would they make you buy it again really unhappy with this. But thankyou now I know why

That would actually be something that is up to the publisher's and not Microsoft.

You don't need to install anything to have gamepass. Once you purchase it, it is automatically put on your account. If you want to play games on the PC, goto the Microsoft Store, and find the game that is on game pass, then select install from the game
store page. If you want to install the Xbox beta app, then just install that from the store as well.

Anyone who purchased the content before it was removed from the store will be able to install it again. You need to log the account that purchased the game into the Microsoft Store app on your Windows.

Open the Microsoft Store app, log in with the account that purchased the game in the upper right corner, search for the game and install it.
