Having an outage is one thing, not updating the status page is unacceptible

My previous role at Google was with one of the SRE teams.

One of the most crucial actions when there was an incident was to communicate it. This needs to be done fast (normally a few minutes).

I kept checking the status page for a long (20 minutes?) time, I then removed my account from the xbox (trying to follow some online instructions) until I realized it must be something else and checked the forums.

Not updating the status page for so long is amateurish.

The first thing people do is check it, why do I need to troubleshoot something and waste so much time?

Not sure if anyone from Microsoft is reading this, if you do I'd put that in the post-mortem...

It's a major outage mostly everyone is dealing with this it may take a while please wait patiently. Thanks!

I saw that the status page was finally updated, this should have been done much faster with such a major outage.

Netflix is currently having an outage on Xbox One.

Look here
support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status to view the status. They will update that page when it is working again.

There is a major outage right now that Microsoft is aware of. The status page is not updated, so you won't find updates there.
