Having additional PayPal payment options in the Payment & Billing options for Xbox accounts.

I recently called Xbox support to make a suggestion, and the representative mentioned that I should also leave the suggestion on the Xbox web site. I hope he ment here, I would like this suggestion seen by someone that can possible implement it payment options.

I'm not sure how many people are familiar with PayPal payments, I use PayPal mostly for all my purchases on eBay. When setting up a PayPal account the person needs to use their bank account for their default means of payment with the account. Later the account
can have other charge cards added for PayPal payments. You can even add PayPal Smart Connect for a payment option for your PayPal payments.

For awhile now, PayPal has a setting in which it's members can change what payment option you want for the default on all of your PayPal payments. I use the PayPal Smart Connect for my default payment with PayPal.

Which brings me to the subject of the post... When looking over the payment & billing section on my Xbox One, I saw their was an option to use PayPal for payments. From time to time I might purchase content for the Xbox store and I used PayPal mostly just
for auctions, and I thought that it might be nice to set up the payment option for digital purchases through the Xbox store.

But, when I step up the PayPal payment option on my Xbox One, it was very limited, you are asked for your email address that is associated for your PayPal account and that's it... it is nice that it sets up your PayPal account very easily, but it does not
give you any other options. I found out after making a purchase through the Xbox store that the PayPal payment was taken from my bank account associated with the PayPal account.

It would be nice if the option was added to change the default payment method for PayPal payments. The bank account that I had originally used to set up my PayPal account does not really contain a large balance, which is why I prefer using the PayPal Smart
Connect for my PayPal payments.

I hope this makes some kind of sense and is not total gibberish. (And, if it does make sense, I hope that some one from the Xbox billing department see it.)

How to Manage your Xbox LIVE payment options

Overview

You can choose to use more than one payment method for your Xbox LIVE account. The payment options include credit cards and PayPal accounts. You can use these payment options to buy items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The 2-year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract uses only credit cards as the payment option. The other payment options like Debit Cards, Prepaid cards and PayPal are not valid for this subscription. However, you can change your payment to another credit card.

If it is before the end of the two years and there is no credit card associated with your account, it is assumed you have terminated the subscription, and you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes.

It is easy to edit your payment options on your console or at Xbox.com

Steps to Follow

Add or change a payment option using your console

1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to Sign in.

2) Proceed to Settings and then select Account.

3) Select Manage Payment Options, and then choose either of the following:

• If you want to add a new credit card, select Add Credit Card.
• If you want to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE, select Add PayPal. You will be required to enter your PayPal username and password. Follow the instructions to add PayPal as a payment option. You cannot use PayPal as a payment option for the 2 year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract. PayPal is not available in all regions.

4) After making changes to payment options, select Update Payment Option.

Add or Change a payment option on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account.

2) Select Payments and Billings and click on Manage Payment Options.

3) You may be required to Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password).

4) Proceed to do either of the following:

If you want to edit a payment option, select Edit.

If you want to add a payment option, you can do either of the following:

• Click on Add New Credit Card and enter the credit card information
• Click on PAY with PayPal and follow the instructions.
