Have I bought an Xbox X Series controller instead of an Xbox One?

Hi everyone,

Please don't laugh... too hard !! I'm fairly new to the Xbox One, and I lost my original controller, so I bought a new one direct from the Microsoft store. However, now I'm not sure that I have the right controller. My original batteries that came with the controller have nearly died, so I bought a rechargeable battery pack. But when it arrived I found that it didn't fit the new controller, so I'm not sure that I actually have an Xbox One controller, instead have something slightly different.

I've been online and had a look at the various controllers but it looks like to me very much like an Xbox Series X - I didn't get the type-c cable in the box, yet I bought an Xbox One controller. The controller has grips on the trigger buttons and also the hand grips as well and works perfectly well with my Xbox One. Can you tell this noob, which controller that I have please ? I've added photos to show you what I have

Thanks Ngocphi, just a quick question about the battery pack. Which one would you suggest would be the better option for the recharging for me ? You mentioned not going for one with a contact charging, so this would just be completely different to just using a Venom charging dock then ?

Well that's a series x

Batteries packs would fit the series x controllers as long as it's not one.of those contact charging backs

As you charge thru your port

Not the back you would have to buy a pack with q charging back.as the pics wouldn't fit

Xbox One accessories and peripherals will be compatible with Xbox Series X. As to whether the rechargeable battery packs are compatible with an Xbox Series X controller, that has not yet been revealed at this time, to my knowledge. However, the new controller
will use USB-C for its charging port instead of the Play & Charge Kit's Micro-USB plug.

when I had the XBox One I was able to control my tv though Xbox one, but now I have the series x and I cant control my tv though my series x?

I bought Xbox Wireless Elite Series 2 Controller, Here in EU (Greece) all controllers have 1 year warranty and the Series X/S consoles 2 years.
