Have Game Pass Console, but can't play online games I've purchased.

Game Pass for console does not include the ability to play online. You would need Game Pass Core for online play (Ultimate includes Core).

If the other console can't connect to online games and you have game pass, it must be because you have game pass for console and that suscription doesn't include online gaming, just access to the game pass catalog to play

There Game Pass for console, which is for the Xbox One and Series S/X and then there's Game Pass for PC which is only for PC. They each have a lot of the same games, just console vs. PC, and PC Game Pass does have less games than console. If you would like to play games on both the console and PC, then you would want to look into Game Pass Ultimate which includes Game Pass for console, PC Game Pass, and Gold (which would need to play online multiplayer on the console anyway).

Sharing through Xbox is not done the same way a Nintendo Online subscription is done. You can't actually share the subscription, but you can set a console as your Home console and other people who use the console would then be able to access online multiplayer (if you have Gold/Ultimate) and any games you've downloaded from Game Pass or purchased.

If you purchased just Game Pass for Console, then you only have access to the library of games but do not have online multiplayer permissions. In order to play online multiplayer games, you need a subscription to either Game Pass Core (Sorta what used to be Gold) or Game Pass Ultimate. Only those two grant the ability to play online multiplayer.

Sure! Game Pass Ultimate includes Game Pass Core, Game Pass for console, PC Game Pass, EA Play, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

You will be able to play on your Xbox console the games you have previously downloaded and that are part of the subscription if you purchase Game Pass Ultimate, and you can play them online.
