i cant play Minecraft because of Xbox app on it so i singed in and now i still cant play because of a privacy setting on my own computer that i bought and want to play Minecraft on. this is why i hate Microsoft.

I hate Microsoft

It's a fair rant. I'm having the exact same problem right now for almost the exact same reason (lost card, cancelled it, got a new one, and now seem unable to renew my membership).

In response to what Onyx said: I did add a new card and remove my old one. It didn't keep that message from popping up.

I know this is a late response to an old thread, but it's worth bringing it up again. Hopefully someone who actually understands the issue (ie staff or someone who's experienced it themselves) can provide an actual solution to it. My membership expires in
two weeks and I'd really like to get this sorted out before then.

Why others care what I buy?

Look we faced this with the first xbox and the 360.....there is a large community that hates Microsoft. Even those that are buying an xbox hate that Microsoft is in front of that. SO haters are gonna hate and probably still buy it lol.

When the service requires you to check your privacy settings means you have registered a child account and only the parental account can make those changes

Hi there!

If it is advising that you need to check your privacy settings that is an indication that this account is setup as a child account under a parent account. Do you have access to the main account where you would be able to alter the settings for the account
attempting to use Minecraft? It sound like you may have set it up as a child account by mistake under another account. If you could take a look and report back to us we can proceed with troubleshooting from there

If your xbox account is a child account that can't be changed in any way - even changing the birth date. If that is so, you will need an adult to create an account, invite you to a family group and change some privacy settings for you:

Have the adult go here with their adult account Sign in to your Microsoft account and click on the child's account and allow the option on the first page called "Share stuff people make (Xbox 360: Member Content)"
to everyone (must be everyone). Also, on the first page, "Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites" to Friends or Everybody. And on the xbox one/windows 10 tab the second option down, "Join multiplayer games", enable that. And then log out and in
on the account in question on the console/device and that account can play online.

If your microsoft account is an adult account you may be able to access that page but any changes will not take effect for real if your xbox account is a child account.

1: To connect your all your divices for remote. You need to download the smart glass app.

2: You don't need Gold to use streaming. But you need gold to use the Apps.

3:MKV DTS and Blu-ray are still not apart of the 360 system. MKV never will. it is a custom video interface that uses subs ,video and audio separately. You can expect Blu-ray to be in the next year's model. All this was well known before.

Sorry it wasn't what you expected. But All this hasn't change much over 10 years. Don't know what your expecting. On another note, Microsoft had the tablet and Apps first before Apple came out with it. Steve jobs just put it in MP3 Player form.

Microsoft doesn't hate its customers. Its up to us to be well informed of the product we buy.
