Try this (Reset App Data)

This will delete your progress but it will sync back after re-launching if you are playing the game while signed in on Xbox Live. before.

Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Click Microsoft Sudoku > Advance options > Reset

same here, the app has been constantly showing "can't sync" status for last few months though all syncing options are enabled, even "download when added to other devices".
