Has MS discontinued the ordinal Xbox emulator for the Xbox 360?

Has MS discontinued the ordinal Xbox emulator for the Xbox 360? A friend of has a second hand one I tried to install one and did not work even with Halo 2. I have had my Xbox 360 for a good few years and works well.

I tried to download the origal xbox emulator on a friends xbox 360 60GB white one

Logged on to Xbox live put in halo 2 and two other games which works fine on my xbox I got a massage saying not compatible

Have ms stoped the emulator download if so can I copy the emulator from my xb0x

to my friend’s xbox

On a usb drive and what is the file called and located

there is no further updates as ms offically discontinued support for original xbox games back in 2007 the last update and online support was discontinued last year

 

Weird. Halo 2 is playable on 360. Check with Xbox Support.

 

I think you need to have an official MS hard drive on the console... does your friend have one?

 

As Eggnogga said, you will need an official Xbox HDD on your Xbox 360. While there is a large portion of the original Xbox games library not all them are able to be played on Xbox 360.

With that said, Halo 2 does work on Xbox 360

Did you try to install the original xbox disc? I don't think you can do that.

 

You must have an official Xbox 360 hard drive. If your console came with a hard drive and the machine was new, it most likely has a fault. If the console is new, but you purchased a hard drive separately, the the hard drive is a fake china knock off. These
drives will not play original Xbox games. If your console is second-hand, it is very possible the previous owner purchased a fake hard drive.

Even if you see the 'Microsoft' name next to your hard drive in the console system settings. it still does not mean your hard drive is a official. All hard drive's say this, even the fake ones.

 

Shame, but if the HDD isn't *Officially licenced by Microsoft* then there is no way to play a BC 8gb Xbox game on the 360. And even if you do have one. You can't play Halo via split screen. I tries it on a friends 60 gb Phat model and all we could do is
play the Halo campaign single player locally.

Yet some claim that you can play Halo via the 360 split screen, and if that's true. Then somethings not right somewhere.
