    Has anyone had issues trying to buy the complete protection plan for a new Xbox series x?


    On January 11th I got an all access Xbox series x from target via drive up through there app. It was a gift for my cancervesary on January 28th and I completely love it. I did not Set it up till the 28th and about a week latter I got a email taking about the complete protection plan. I thought it sounded like a cool thing to have so decided to purchase it. I started a chat about a half hour before I was planning to sleep for work, thinking it would be an easy thing to do. However it turned into a nightmare. The person I talked to on chat was really nice. She informed me my serial number needed to be updated to purchase it which confused me, but she transferred me to support on the phone. which ended up being nearly 2 hour experience of getting passed around and put on hold. I work the midnight shift and had to go to sleep so when I was on hold for a hour and half I had to end the call. On my lunch hour that night I spent it trying to resolve the situation. He send me a follow up email saying they needed my proof of purchase and a photo of serial number so I provided that and they says they escalated it that was Saturday morning. Monday since I still have not heard anything I started a chat to check on the status and they said it can take 72 hours witch would be ,Tuesday. So Wednesday I started a chat to check on it. For some reason it shows my year of included warranty is up in October even tho I did not get my Xbox until January. They escalated it to the hardware team again but did not like my receipt photo because it was a digital drive up one that’s all that was listed for my receipt on my target account tho I even showed them my purchase history and paper work from the all access plan. They said I needed to get a better receipt from target then email them back. So I had to start a chat with target to to get a receipt that met their standards. The receipt they had was the same one I gave support. so he had to pass me to a supervisor who emailed me a invoice witch I hope meets their standards. I emailed xbox support back yesterday morning with the photo of it but I have not heard anything back. I wasted hours of time and effort trying to get this extended warranty. I thought it was going be easy to get and just wanted it cus I love my Xbox. This is my first ever Xbox and it is amazing. Has anyone had this problem? How do I fix this? What am I doing wrong. Is it even worth getting at this point?

    Excellent. I'm so glad they were finally able to get you set up and with a discount no less. Now, if you're like me you're probably going to presume that it's only upping your warranty to 2 years. However, it's the one year plus 2 extra lol. I only found that out recently. Got my console day one with the updated warranty and it finally runs out this November. You can double check your console warranty at https://account.microsoft.com/devices.

    I do apologize for that. If you live close by to a store why not bring the console and all your info into the store customer support area and see if they can help there then.

    I really wish there was more we could do here to help with this but this is an open forum and no one here would have the access needed to do this for you. If you were given a reference number last time you were speaking with them be sure to give it out when you contact again so you don't have to do any extra explaining

    that is who I contacted Friday night and discovered I had a problem and could not purchase it. I am trying to fix the problem so I can. However support is not helping me do so. It has been a complete nightmare.
