“Hardware issue” that prevent connectivity to Wi-Fi even though there seems to be no reason...

Doing that does sometimes fix it temporarily. I don't believe it's a wi-fi unit issue though as the controllers connect through Blutooth not wi-fi, they did on 360 at least. I should have also mention that I'm a preview member, but this issue doesn't seem
to be experienced by any other members.

just to be sure try a full power cycle:

Please press and hold the power button on the console for at least 10 seconds until you hear the console powering down.

Make sure the console is fully powered off for at least 30 seconds and then remove the power from the console and wait at least 1 minute.

Reconnect and see if it fixed anything

Don't know is it WI-FI hardware isue or. I use RJ45 cable on my Xbox, don't use WI-FI on it. Better connection and speed.

At the back of your router there's a tiny hole you can press using a ball pen for 5 sec to factory reset it. Please note that after a factory reset, you will have to connect to your network using the default Wi-Fi SSID or name and Wi-Fi password indicated at the back of your router or manual.

Yes, Wi-Fi has to deal with software but it's a hardware just like bluetooth. A device won't be able to support Wi-Fi if there's no hardware for Wi-Fi or wireless connectivity or let's simply put it as a wireless card.

Are you using Wi-Fi? If you're able to test the console using a wired connection, do you still get disconnected from Live?

It does sound like a potential hardware issue, but I can't say for sure. The console's Wi-Fi board handles both the Wi-Fi connection between the console and your router and the wireless connection between the console and wireless peripherals such as controllers.

If the controllers work wired and if, when you connect the console to your router with a cable, you're not getting disconnected from Live, then I'd bet on it being a Wi-Fi board issue.

It's not hard to fix it yourself, although you would need to source the replacement board/card on eBay or whatever. It's definitely a cheaper fix than sending it in to MS or buying a whole new console, assuming you're reasonably tech savvy.
