  1. Hard drive replacement on Xbox One (not X or S) and ban from xbox live

    Hi everyone.

I recently purchased an older version of Xbox One (not X, S or Digital Edition) for about 45 USD and I want to replace the internal drive with an SSD, for I am really worried about its failure because it has been 10 years since the launch date of the game console.

I know MS' terms of service prohibits that and doing so may result in perma-ban on Xbox Live, but for now I'm not going to subscribe to that.

There are only three titles that I want to play on it for the time being, all of which do not require the Internet connection. Does the ban mean I cannot play these games? If there are further updates in these titles, can I receive these?

Also, if I should get banned, does that affect my Xbox account on my Windows computer?

It seems that I couldn't find what the word 'ban' means in these contexts.

I don't want to send my console to Microsoft for repair, since they charge me nearly three times of the price for which I bought this machine.

    Thank you in advance.

    :)

I didn't know there is a code of conduct page aside from terms of service section since Microsoft didn't provide me that when I tried to submit this post.

Thanks anyway, I will mark your reply as an answer.

Is it possible to change the internal HDD?

A normal Xbox One hard drive is silent. If yours is loud, there is obviously something wrong with it. And no you can not replace it yourself. If attempt to do so your console will be banned from accessing Xbox LIVE.

    XBOX ONE Hdd content

The Hard drive in the Xbox One is not designed to be user replaceable. If you open your console and replace it, you not only void your console warranty, you will also run the risk of your console being banned from accessing LIVE. No one on this forum can
    assist you.
