    Hard Drive Problem


    Ok, so I was trying to transfer my data from the old fat hard drive to the slim hard drive. I plugged it in and I got nothing after a few seconds, so I tried to do it manually by going into storage and configure it. I get this message that my fat hard drive
    is below recomendations and worse, I can't even access all the data stored in there. And when I tried to put my hard drive back on my old 360, it wouldn't even detect the hard drive or the contents it has. I have years worth of info in there and I don't want
    to lose it. Can someone please help? I really don't want to start from scratch on all the games I've played.

    Hard drive problem

    For the past few months my hard drive would just crash on my xbox while playing games. Recently it has happened more often. I have a SATA 1.0TB hard drive. Is there a certain setting that's causing the problem or is it the hard drive itself. I have a lot of storage on their that I would hate to lose. I'm sure its not an overheating problem because I would turn the hard drive on for the first time that day and it would crash in the first few minute. Please help if you can, its annoying the crap out of me.

    do you have that box checked that says "turn off external devices on standby" or something like that? That might be the issue.

    It sounds like your hard drive was configured to work as a flash drive. If you were using a third party transfer cable this is a known issue. Unfortunately, once it's been done, there is no way to restore it back to how it was.

    Crap. It's gonna take weeks just to get back to what I have in my games and I don't have some of the games that I have achievements for. My hard drive is just junk now.

    Ownage is correct, thats the main reason you always see the warning telling you not to turn off the game when you see the saving icon. It's doesnt even have to be your fault either. I've been unlucky enough a few times to have a game freeze while saving
    manually or when triggering an autosave spot.

    Go to the console where you transfered the app's, games, profile's. download your xbox live profile to the console where the data was transfered. If your doing this right it will prompt you to enter ur microsoft email and password
