Hard drive for Xbox series s keeps asking me to transfer games why

When did that issue start to occur? How did you get the error message?

May I know what steps have you already tried so far?

Try to power cycle your console. Press and hold the Xbox power button for 10 sec until it turns off. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

He's running a hdd rather then storage or internal memory

Which patched games work on

Well it would only ask for.games that are patched or optimized.for.series x

Hdds can only be used for.storage but not.to.run optimized or patched games

Only internal or storage.cards can be used for running optimized or patched games

Your library will.list which games are optimized or patched for series

To transfer games from the internal hard drive to an external hard drive on an Xbox Series S or X, navigate to "My games & apps", select the game you want to transfer, choose "Move or Copy", then select the external drive as the destination and confirm.

I installed them on my old xbox one and transferred them to the external hard drive so I know they are on the hard drive

All my installed games appear correctly as installed on my Xbox one if I connect the hard drive to it. But when I connect the hard drive to my Series S, most of the installed games appear but about 9 of them do not. The missing games appear as ready to install on my Series S
