Considering the new wave of people that will join Skip Ahead, and those who are visiting for the first time the subreddit or are interested in general with the Xbox Insider Program and are planing to your the community, please let me serve you will information, tips and ideas to take the most of this experience.

NOTE: I'm not directly or indirectly related to Microsoft or any subdivision from them, this post is for general information and is intended to provide a "user-side" point of view of the program.

What is the Xbox Insider Program?


The Xbox Insider Program allows passionate Xbox fans the opportunity to give us feedback on the latest Xbox One System updates, as well as features and games still in development on the both the Xbox One console and Windows 10 PCs. Join the Xbox Insider Program and help make work-in-progress content and features coming to Xbox even better. Tell us what you love, what you could do without, and what you want more of by completing quests, surveys, quick polls, and reporting problems directly to developers. As an Xbox Insider, you will decide your level of involvement and what content to pursue – whether it is on PC or Xbox One or focused around system updates or games. You will automatically become eligible to join more and more Insider content previews based on your interests, tenure as an Xbox Insider, Xbox Insider XP score, and activities you participate in. How Get the Xbox Insider Hub app


On Xbox One - Move over to the Store tab on the dashboard or select Store in the guide. - Choose Search. - Enter insider in the box, then select Xbox Insider Hub. - Select Get or Install. On Windows 10 The Xbox Insider Hub can be installed from Microsoft Store on your Windows 10 PC. - Press the Start button, type store, and then select Microsoft Store. - Select Search, enter insider in the box, and then select Xbox Insider Hub. - Select Get or Install. Sign up for a preview


A preview can include games, apps, experiences, and the Xbox One Update Preview. To sign up: - Open the Xbox Insider Hub. - Choose Insider content. - Choose a game, app, or other experience. - Press Join. - Choose a Group you want to join, and then select Done. - Read the Terms and Conditions of participating in the preview, and then select Accept
Stop participating in the Xbox Insider Program


- Open the Xbox Insider Hub. - Select Settings > Manage devices. - Choose the devices you want to remove from the Xbox Insider Program. - Uninstall the Xbox Insider Hub.

If you use Android (I don't know if iOS is compatible) you can use a RSS-feed manager to keep updated of the official blog posts and quickly find if there's a new update for the Ring you are rolled in, In my case I use the free version of Feedly for that and normal news feeds, but feel free to use (or suggest) anyone you like.

Ideas on how To Report a Problem (Bug Reporting).


This is the main purpose of the Insider Program, being able to test and evaluate features, changes, improvements, performance and any other things you can imagine that falls into the Insider Program and other previews (like game beta invitations). Therefor, if you don't have a background on bug reporting you might find confusing or misleading how to address something you think is an issue, problem or an odd behavior experience. From my point of view, there's no wrong answers on how to make your report, but however there's some guidelines I could suggest to enable an ease of reading for our friends developers out there.

Submitting key information is important, and more if you can explain the steps you took before the problem you are reporting so they can try to reenact it and figure out a solution, so I'll give an example with a relatively new post in this subreddit:

From the picture you can see there's an unusual download error message, and some details of what's the problem and what's happening when the OP tries to fix it. that's the general idea of how this subreddit works, you show what you find hoping somebody else have a similar issue and try and see if they have found a solution.

Sometimes I do it myself for stress release.

Now, that's how the subreddit experience goes, but how do you address this problem with the Report a Problem feature of the Insider Tool you have?

As I said there's infinite quantities of methods to report the problem, for example one simple report would be like this:

I tried to download "X" game from my Xbox and is giving me an error when I try to re-download it, my console shutdowns.

As I mentioned this can be considered as a valid report as is mentioned what you did and what did happen when you tried to do something else. but lot of important details that can be used to provide more information to the developers can be added, for example if you like using this "template" style reporting method:

The section affected is stored in Internal or External Device? (Or if is a peripheral device).

A brief step-by-step process (if possible to remember)

Game installation on an External HDD Seagate 8TB.

I booted up my console, went into the Store and search for the game, I clicked on download and when the indicator reached 100% the error message show up on screen, when I pressed it to retry the download the console immediately turned off by itself, when I booted up again, I uninstalled the game and retry the same process, but same issue happened.
