    Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition pre-order counts towards star boost?


    I know preorders don't count towards VIP ranks, but now there's the odd situation you can buy both the preorder and "normal" version of Halo Wars 2 Ultimate edition at the same time. So, to be clear, you can buy -not preorder- the preorder version as of
    today. I do not want to miss out this opportunity, but I also want it to count towards MyVIP star boost. You think I can buy it without losing my star boost? I think I could, because "preorder" is now just a suffix to the game's name, not a real preorder.

    The 21th is the official release date for Halo Wars 2 Standard Edition; the official release date for Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition is the 17th. You can buy (not pre-order) both Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition and the preorder version of it in the store now.
    So, it's mighty confusing. But to be on the safe side I'd better buy the game on the 21th. What a mess!

    No. Preorders are not eligible for VIP.
    I'm trying to understand why pre-orders are not eligible for vip. Is it because otherwise you would get rewarded twice, e.g. once for the vip star boost and once for the on demand pre-order punch card?

    The fact that it's not eligible for the star boost is a real downer for me. I would like to pre-order Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition in order to play the Halo Wars Definitive Edition straight away.

    Pre-orders do not count towards VIP so it would not have counted towards your VIP boost. Pre-orders will only count for credits or anything if they are part of a specific offer on the site at the time. So your Halo Wars 2 purchase would have counted towards
    your Games on Demand Punchcard. Individual purchases are not shown on your Rewards statement. Only offers you have complete.

    Halo Wars 2 PO/ Spend 50$ get a star

    For the MyVip star boost all MyVip terms and conditions apply, therefore pre-orders (such as Halo Wars 2) is not eligible for the promotion.

    However, Halo Wars 2 would have applied toward your Games on Demand Punchcard so if you pre-order 2 more eligible titles you would receive the 15,000 reward bonus.
