Halo Wars 2 Crashing in the first campaign mission

Hi,

I recently purchased and installed Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition on a Windows 10 PC, I loaded the game and it started fine, navigated through the menu to the campaign section, and started the campaign. I quickly realised that at any point if I selected a
unit and right clicked on an object in the game, it would cause the game to crash. This happened in any gamemode, campaign, skirmish, etc.

It would be great to get any help I can with this issue.

GPU - GTX 1070

CPU - Intel i5-6600k

DirectX - DirectX 12

Memory - 16GB

update: put the game into the LOWEST possible graphics options and still getting the issue,

Also tried to restart still crashes, all drivers up to date, still crashes

Try to restart the PC.

I've already attempted a restart, made sure to restart PC when i updated my driver's as well

this has been happening since jan 15th 2020 on windows 10 they have stated that they are aware of the issue you arent the only one having this problem. i am as well as others. Guess we will just have to wait patiently...

anytime you have have selected units make an action the game will crash with no error

Can’t actually help you, but this happened to me some years ago, when they first introduced cross platform for halo wars 2.

For me it was impossible (it occurred the same problem as you) playing online: whatever match it was. It was ok with the campaign, and after a bit of troubleshooting i remember coming to a conclusion: the problem was playing with people on xbox. If i was
playing with other pcs it was ok. If i was playing alone it was ok.

I could not find a specific solution, but i doubt there is one: by now you would have easily found that searching on the internet, cause it is a really big problem.

Halo: CE and Reach had 10 missions each, (I think Reach might've had 11) I don't see why they should limit the campaign to 8. Heck, Halo Wars and Halo 2 both had 15 missions each.
