    Halo MCC will not enable mods


    I followed the instructions to enable mods though the xbox pc app. Going to the game details, then more, then enable mods. It acts like it is successful however when I select open the mods folder it just takes me to the game folder. More importantly every time I exit the app and come back it acts like I never enabled it in the first place as the enable mods option is back and no at no point did I click on the disable mods bottom. For context of what I'm trying to do I am trying to play ruby's rebalance mods and I am using the nexus vortex to do it. According to vortex the mods have been installed and enabled, but when I play its clear that they haven't been. I also launched the game with easy anti-cheat disabled.

    the reason it opens the game folder and not a mods folder is you have to replace the actual game files with the modded versions. you don't just stick the mods into a mod folder with mcc.

    Hello @matthewfrancis6!

    Regarding this issue, I would advice you to free some space on your PC as corrupted files might cause the issue as well as uninstalling the game and reinstalling it and see if the issue is fixed.

    there is several ways to mod halo mcc on windows (this is legit to do before trying to lock this thread.)

    windows app store version, it is a little more complex, this link will explain it better

    it is alot easier to mod the steam version with the proper forge assembly from github, here is a vid for that version, he has a series for modding halo.

    I was hoping to avoid uninstalling the game as it took me two days to download, but I was afraid it would have to happen. I have read the article those were the instructions I was referring too.
