    Halo MCC split screen Multiplayer broken


    After not playing it for almost a year I turned on MCC and tried to play multiplayer split screen with a friend and matchmaking keeps crashing back to game type selection screen. When I log off the guest acct, single player works just fine. Is there a fix
    for this as I feel like the latest Xbox update has broken this game even more.

    Which games you got that disappoint you & Why? *SPOILERS*

    Halo MCC the broken multiplayer left a sour taste and ruined the multiplayer aspect of the game.

    AC Unity full of annoying and funny bugs in the story mode and the multiplayer. Annoying micro transactions and locking you out of chests unless you played a mobile games was annoying. As soon as I finished the campaign I traded it in for store credit.

    Halo 5 - not a fan of the micro transaction Requisition system and lack of Split screen. The campaign was short and a bit of a chore to play. The campaign finished on another annoying cliffhanger like Halo 2.

    Hi

    I don't think Halo 5 supports local split screen multiplayer if you want to play split screen I would suggest you try Halo Master Chief Collection.

    this is how you work around it.

    1. Press the xbox button on your control.

    2. Scroll all the way left and click "Add New". DO NOT CLICK ADD GUEST.

    3. In order to play any multiplayer matchmaking on MCC all players must have a Microsoft account (This does NOT mean that everyone needs Xbox gold account).

    4. If your guest does not have a Microsoft account, simply create one (it's completely free).

    5. Sign in with this newly created account.

    6. When you start a matchmaking game with this newly created account your still gonna have that stupid "family settings" message pop up. Ignore it, your Xbox live matchmaking game will work.

    Yes this is really stupid of Microsoft to do...it just makes things complicated but it is the only way around it...

    Yep. Halo 5 is single player only. MCC's split screen ability in campaign will depend on which campaign you're playing. 2 person for CE/H2 and 4 for the rest.

    I can suggest a few, Halo MCC, Halo: Reach (which is backwards compatible), The Lego video games, Forza Motorsport titles. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

    In terms of the terminology (Multiplayer online/offline, split-screen and horde and all) it can be a bit confusing, in your case you would be after games that have split-screen and/or local co-op options and anything
    that has Multiplayer offline. These will allow you to play with a friend on that console.
