    I recently did a clean install of windows and the other than updating my drivers the first thing I had to do was install the Master Chief Collection (obtained through gamepass) so I could get back to my campaign playthrough using Ruby's mod.

    The game installed fine, and runs fine, but I am unable to enable mod support. The option to enable mod support is there in the xbox app but when I click on it I get the error message "There was an error checking mod status 0x80070005".

    When I first installed the game I was very disappointed that unlike the Steam version, Windows would not let me even touch the games files which put a hard stop on any attempt to use mods. At some point after that first install there was an update that moved
    the games files to a folder which was modifiable and I was able to install and use mods (as long as I launched with anti-cheat disabled) without manually enabling mod support.

    But now it looks like that is something that requires manual enabling and the app just won't let me do it. I tried looking up the error number and it looks like a pretty generic windows error and none of the results I found where about it coming up in this
    situation. The only thing I can think of to try is reinstalling the game but I have a monthly data cap (thanks Comcast) and can't really afford to download another 100GB of data just for the chance that it will fix my problem. Especially when I had just done
    a clean install of both windows and the game so I have little confidence a reinstall would be any different.

    Does anyone have any advice to get past the error or enable mod support in any other ways? Should I just give up and buy the Steam version of the game that apparently just works properly?

    Halo master chief collection not available after upgrade to windows 11

    I have the same problem. I checked the account, and it shows that I have paid for the subscription. When I start Halo MCC, it shows that I have been playing the game and shows my current status. But when I try to PLAY the game, it says that Halo CE isn't installed. It asks if I want to install. If I say yes, then it asks for my pin, and then it thinks for a moment, and then it gives me an error. (I was going to start it up again and try to grab a screenshot of the error for you, but now Halo MCC won't open at all.)

    MCC was down as there was an update giving PC owners Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary game playable now. Stay tuned for more such issues to indicate when the other halo games will release for PC MCC

    And yes mcc pc.is different from.gamepass for pc

    They only added the halo 4 to complete mcc

    But as with all disks versions mcc pc is still the same as xbox one

    However mcc gamepass is completer

    it is because its part of the halo MCC, you need the base part which is halo MCC then the individual games so it reserves space for them, halo 1 on pc for instance is 8.58GB and then add on the MCC base game it becomes 30.08GB.

    halo mcc consists of all the games which take 142GB of space on pc so it saves this space aside, when you install hmcc and just one of the games which is also split into multiplayer and campaign it looks like it still reserves the space, this is what i have seen on xbox and gamepass pc, when i install via steam and just choose one of the games to be installed then the space taken is just by mcc and that one game.
