    Halo MCC Chinese Version not compatible on Series X


    There is a separate version of Halo MCC in China which says it is not compatible on Series X, but the store page says it is. There is also not a non-compatible icon on the game like the Kinect games have. The game works fine on One X, but says it's not compatible on Series X even though the store page says it is.

    Occasionally and typically if there isn't a backwards compatible version. For instance, GTAV, MGSV and Skyrim I repurchased, but if there is already a backwards compatible version, then I usually stick with that. Main exception being the Halo MCC as I

    Halo 3: ODST was not included as part of the Master Chief Collection. There was a redemption code sent out for it for some users of MCC as a make-good, which added the single-player version of ODST to the MCC. If you redeemed it then, then it would be available
    as DLC on the account that redeemed it.

    Go to My Games & Apps -> Games -> Halo MCC and press Menu, then choose Manage Game. If this account redeemed it, it will appear in "Ready to Install".

    If you own the Xbox 360 version of Halo 3 ODST, you can install the single-player version through back-compat.

    If it was the 360 version, then no. That's not backwards compatible and wouldn't work on the Series X.

    The $29 one you saw is the Xbox One version of the game which is backwards compatible with the Series S/X. The 360 version is not backwards compatible.
